$16M settlement for families of teens who died in grain bin accident

A Carroll County jury has awarded $8 million  each to the families of two teens, who died in a grain bin accident in 2010.

The jury of nine men and three women deliberated for eight hours.

In July of 2010, 14-year-old Wyatt Whitebread and 19-year old Alejandro Pacas were helping move corn down a conveyor belt, when they sank into the corn and were suffocated.

A third plaintiff who sand up to his neck and survived received an $875,000 reward.

The trial lasted two-and-a-half weeks.
