The “Taste of Chicago” might cost you a bit more.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced a plan Wednesday to charge more for food tickets, to make the event more profitable.

He proposed increasing the price of a 12-ticket strip from $8.00 to $8.50.

He also wants to increase the cost of concert tickets at the event, charging for 3,000 general admission lawn seats.

More than 30,000 lawn spots will remain free.

You couldn't pay me to go to the Taste of Chicago ever again. I haven't been since Rahm Emmanuel was elected Mayor. He has jacked this traditional Chicago event up. He has shortened the days from 10 to 5, it's AFTER July 4th (which makes no sense), there are no more fireworks (one of the main attractions), he has minimized the participating restaurants(which sucks) and now he has the nerve to increase the cost too. RAHM EMMANUEL can kick bricks. I'm late to the game about the Chicago Gourmet event but even paying $100 – $175 for one day is better than paying anything for the Taste of Chicago. It is more organized and there are lots more food and drinks.
