Metra riders should set aside a little extra time for the morning commute.

The vicious cycle of snow and cold continue to wreak havoc on the system. Trains in and out of Ogilvie Station experienced delays Wednesday evening, due to switching problems.

Union Pacific Northbound trains ranged from 15 to 85 minutes– on the Northwest line up to 75 minutes.

A spokesman says they hope to have the switching issuers resolved by Thursday, but an alert on their website asks for continuing patience due to severe weather.
