Five people were transported Friday evening when a vehicle crashed into an animal hospital.

According to the Chicago Fire Department, a call came in at 6:30 for a car into a building at 3235 N. Kedzie.

“Apparently when the auto crashed into the building there were people in the waiting area,” the fire department said.  Five people were transported but it is unclear who was in the vehicle and who was in the animal hospital.

One person was transported in serious-to-critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, the other four were all transported in fair-to-serious or good condition to various hospitals.

According to an employee at the animal hospital, one employee who was inside went to the hospital complaining of back pain.

About 10-13 animals that were inside were taken to their ‘sister clinic’ heal.
