17th cold related death reported in Cook County

A woman in Oak Lawn is the 17th person in Cook County to die because of the cold this winter.

PoliceLights400x22586-year-old Antoinette Diesness died from hypothermia.

She was found outside her home on the 8700 block of South Meade Avenue on January 28.

A neighbor found her lying in the snow.

She had a coat on, but investigators say she may have fallen since she was missing a shoe.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office  found that heart disease and dementia were contributing factors.
