An airplane was evacuated just after it landed at O’Hare.

American Eagle flight 4309 arrived from Washington D.C. Monday night. The plane was at the gate, when the captain ordered everyone to exit.

Passengers were told to leave their bags and slide down the emergency exit slides.

All 57 passengers and four crew members got off safely.

American says the pilot received a flight deck instrument warning of a possible issue on board.

Sources tell WGN-TV the pilot thought he saw a fire and sparks out of the auxiliary power unit.  That’s used for electricity and pressurization but it doesn’t necessarily mean the plane will catch fire.  American says the captain used abundant caution and ordered the emergency evacuation.

No one was hurt.
