Next NSA director may be from Chicago area

The next director of the National Security Agency will be a man from the Chicago area.

Navy vice admiral Michael Rogers attended New Trier High School in Winnetka.

From there, he went to Auburn University, then began a 30-year career in the Navy.

He currently heads the Navy’s cyber command.

The current NSA director, General Keith Alexander, will retire in March.

Rogers needs to be confirmed by the Senate as his successor.
