Aurora Police are investigating the death of a 4-year-old Aurora girl that occurred inside of the home in which she lived, late Sunday afternoon.

Police were called by the girl’s mother at about 5:49 p.m. to an apartment in the 1200 block of Nantucket Av., after a television fell off of a stand onto the girl.

She was taken by Aurora Fire Department Paramedics to Presence Mercy Medical Center in Aurora where she was pronounced dead at 6:34 p.m.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the girl’s death is accidental at this time. At the time of the accident, the home was occupied by the victim, the mother, and younger sibling.

More details are expected to be released later Monday.

An autopsy is pending at the Kane County Coroner’s Office.
