Stamp prices increase

The cost of mailing something at the U.S. Postal Service is going up.

Starting today first class stamps will cost 49 cents – an increase of three cents. The First class flat rate goes up by six cents and first class package rates will increase about 5 percent.

These are the largest increases in consumer postage  in more than a decade. The U.S. Postal Service is trying to make up for $5 billion in annual losses.
