Extreme cold hits Chicago for second time this year

Along Chicago’s lakefront a football game  sunny skies and tolerable temps — the relative calm before tomorrow’s arctic blast!

It’s round two of dangerously cold weather,  we’re not even out of January and Jeremy Kermin says spring can’t get here soon enough!

“This is the coldest winter I can remember”
By  noon today, It was official , no school Monday for the city’s 400-thousand CPS students.  A decision reached much earlier this time than the first arctic blast in the first days of the month.

Collen and Paul tambornino say they welcome the early notice for parents,   as for their son Danny,  he just looking for a day off to play.
Northwestern emergency room Dr.  Rahul Khare says as long as the playing takes place inside.
With exposed skin in the extreme cold were expecting, Even just 5 minutes outside can lead to frostbite or hypothermia!
