Our temperatures continue on their roller coaster ride and today the mercury is headed back down.

Cloudy skies are expected to bring flurries and light snow showers to region on and off today.  A dusting to possibly a half inch of accumulation is possible.  Temperatures will struggle to reach 20 degrees with most areas topping out in the mid to upper teens.  Breezy west winds will make it feel like 0 to 5 degrees.

After a mostly cloudy night and lows in the single digits we’ll have our eyes on the latest clipper system to effect the area.  The forecast calls for the low to move just south of Chicago and as it moves from the northwest to southeast we could see 2-4 inches of snow spread across northeast Illinois.

A warm up is expected Sunday as partly cloudy skies help boost temperatures into the low to mid-30s.  Soon after a cold front will move through the region and another shot of arctic air will move into the area early next week.
