Local school districts are scrambling to reschedule the school days that were lost in last week’s cold snap.
Chicago Public Schools have scheduled make-up days on March 28th and June 11th.
Niles District 219 will have its students attend class this Friday, on what was to have been a day off between semesters.
New Trier District 203 chose January 24th and June 10th; Evanston selected February 17th and March 14th.
Schools must have 185 class days per year; Chicago Public Schools met that requirement, even with last week’s closings; but school officials say the make-up days are necessary.
