Tony’s Tips:

Snow acts as an insulator for many plants.

Avoid shoveling heavy snow on top of plants with slender or delicate stems.

Gently shake snow off of evergreens; use a broom instead of any heavy shovel, which can damage branches.

Don’t put hot water on ice-encased plants.

Drape evergreens in mesh netting to avoid animal damage.

Consider using calcium magnesium acetate
