Chicago starts pothole repair early

Chicago pothole repair crews are working this weekend– earlier than they would normally begin weekend shifts.

We’ve had a tough winter already. With fluctuations in temperatures, potholes are popping up earlier than normal.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel says city workers have fixed 18,000 potholes since Wednesday.

A recent inspector general report states the city failed to fix one-quarter of potholes within a week of them being reported between 2010 and 2012.
