Florida man sentenced to life for fatally stabbing Bears fan

A Florida man was sentenced to life in prison for killing a Chicago Bears fan from north suburban Lake Villa.

Matthew Hinson was charged with second-degree murder in the death of William Pettry, in Jacksonville in October of 2012.

Pettry was in Jacksonville for the Bears vs. Jaguars game.

Prosecutors said Hinson slashed his neck with a pocket knife, after he saw Pettry talking to his wife.

While hinson confessed to the stabbing, the Chicago Suntimes reports he told police he didn`t remember his reasons for committing the crime.
