Crews working around the clock to tackle city’s potholes

This CDOT crew fixed about a dozen potholes on 35th street near U.S. Cellular Field after the city received dozens of complaints.

They received a personal thank you from Mayor Emanuel for all of their heard work here and around the city. The mayor says 18,000 potholes have been fixed since Wednesday and he ordered repairs begin more than a week earlier than last year because of the widespread concern about road conditions.

This patch of damaged road near Roscoe and California is leading to delays and backups on the busy north side road.

This pothole right at the corner of Madison and Loomis on the west side is one of many that catch drivers off guard.

In Hyde Park, we saw clusters of smaller potholes everywhere. The rash of potholes at 57th and Blackstone had drivers hitting the breaks as a precaution.
