A middle school in Ingleside, Illinois was put on soft lockdown after a bullet was found in a hallway.
Big Hollow Middle School sent out an email to parents notifying them that the school was put into a soft lockdown as of 9 a.m. Thursday.
The email to parents reads:
This is Big Hollow School calling to notify you that the Big Hollow Middle School was put into a soft lockdown status at approximately 9:00 am today, Thursday, January 9th. A live bullet was found in the 8th grade hallway. While no threats of violence were made, every precaution is being taken to secure the safety of students and staff. Lockers and premises are currently being searched by the Lake County Police. All students and staff will remain in their classrooms until the search is complete.
Lake County officers searched student lockers along with school staff and found no further bullets or weapons.
The lockdown was lifted at 11 a.m.
