Video: Lake Michigan ‘steam’

The scene looking out on Lake Michigan today is remarkable.
The occurance is often mis-identified as “steam”–but for obvious reasons! The ice crystals just above the surface DO have the appearance of stream! I’ve lived in the city for 36 years and don’t think I’ve ever seen this “steaming” phenomenon ever take on a more impressive appearance–and heaven knows we’ve all crossed paths with some mean cold air masses in the pass.
