Snow totals nearing a foot at airports

Latest radar trends show the concentrated plume of lake-effect snow that has been hitting the Chicago area is slowly shifting east and headed for northwest Indiana.

Snow will gradually ease in the city and south suburbs this evening while increasing in intensity in northwest Indiana where another 6-10 inches could occur.

After more than two days of snowfall with double-digit totals, skies are finally clearing in areas north and west of the city.
