A 42-year-old woman is facing animal cruelty and hoarding charges after 30 dogs were rescued from her home in North Chicago.
Police and animal control found the dogs living in filth in a one bedroom apartment.
Many of the animals were dehydrated and malnourished.
More than 200 people have volunteered to help with the dogs.
Over the next few days, the dogs will go out to five different shelters, for eventual adoption.
