When Santa Claus takes his late night sleigh ride this year, he’ll have some backup, but not everyone is happy about it.

North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD, creates the animated tracking of Santa’s reindeer flight from the North Pole.

This year, he has security detail in the form of military fighter jets.

NORAD says the jets make the sleigh ride feel like an important mission, but child advocates want the jets gone.

They say the war planes have no place with Santa.
