7 sent to hospital after ‘unusual smell’ at suburban high school

A sickening smell triggered the evacuation of a southwest suburban high school today.

Seven people were overcome by strange fumes at Stagg High School in Palos Hills.

Paramedics took six students and a teacher to the hospital as a precaution.

The odor was reported in a math class at the school on 115th St.

Nicor Gas crews were dispatched to the scene.

A company spokesman says there were indications of elevated carbon monoxide levels at the school.
