1 dead, 2 injured in fiery Lake Shore Drive crash

One person is dead and two others are seriously injured after a fiery crash on Lake Shore Drive Friday morning.

It happened 4800 N. Lake Shore Drive.

Authorities say a car was traveling in the southbound lanes of Lake Shore Drive when it rolled over into the northbound lanes and caught fire.

Traffic was being diverted off at Wilson for a few hours, but now northbound lanes of Lake Shore Drive are open.

The two people injured were transported to Illinois Medical Masonic in critical condition.

    The city needs to start charging the drivers for the time and expense of responding to these crashes. If the driver knew how to drive a car, this would not have happened.. If the driver was killed, his estate should bear the cost.
