chi-chicago-bulls-derrick-rose-20130312-001Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose had a “successful” surgery Monday to repair a torn medial meniscus in his right knee, and he’s expected to make a full recovery.

In a statement, Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf said: “Like Bulls fans everywhere, I was heartbroken when I heard of Derrick’s injury. We are happy to know that, according to his doctors, his surgery was successful, and in time, Derrick is expected to make a full recovery. Everyone at the Bulls knows firsthand how extremely hard Derrick worked to return to the court this year, and I have no doubt he will do the same with regards to his recovery from this injury. Despite Derrick’s absence, this is still a good team.  I know from last year, this team and coaching staff will continue to make our fans proud.”

Additionally, NorthShore University HealthSystem orthopedic surgeon Dr. Jason Koh,  who does not treat Derrick Rose, tells WGN that he believes Rose will make a full recovery from a torn meniscus. He does not believe this will be a career ending injury. Dr. Kohl specializes in sports medicine at Evanston Hospital.  He says the meniscus acts like a shock absorber to the knee and injuring it causes a lot of wear and tear.

He should have played last year in the playoffs. In a game like this You can get hurt any time. If He would have been in the playoffs and gotten hurt then He would have the off season to recover again. He was selfish because injured or not He is making a ton of money..Nike management must be very pissed, They are not getting any returns for their money. I don't buy Nike's anyways.
