Man fatally shot near bus shelter on South Side

No arrests have been made in the fatal shooting of a man near a South Side bus shelter.

It happened early Saturday morning in the 2400 block of East 100th Street.

Police found 34-year-old Jeffrey Whiters lying on the ground and nine shell casings around the bus shelter.

Police believe Whiters was trying to get help after he was shot.
