Health officials continue to monitor a west suburban health club after two men contracted Legionnaires’ disease traced to the club.

The Dupage County Health Department says the link between the men appears to be a hot tub at an LA Fitness health club in Naperville.

Test results from the club have been negative.

The hot tub has been closed since October 23 and could stay that way for another month.

It will be cleaned with disinfectant twice and inspected again by the health department before re-opening.

The pool, gym and showers were not affected and remain open.

Legionnaires’ disease is a type of pneumonia caused by bacteria.

Both men are said to be medically stable.

LA Fitness officials have not commented on the cases.
