Right at the corner of Clark and Hubbard in downtown, a new restaurant is hoping to breathe some new life into Chicago’s approach to food.

The menu at Lyfe Kitchen is designed by celebrity chefs Tal Ronnen and Art Smith and is centered around taste and a healthy lifestyle.

The menu features fresh herbs, spices replacing sauces replace butter, cream and salt.

Dishes like mahi mahi fish tacos and kale salad are included as well as Chef Art`s Un-fried Chicken, roasted mushroom and goat cheese flatbread and Chef Tal`s signature Vegan Grain Bowl.

Every dish on the menu is largely locally sourced, under 600 calories and less than 1000 mg of sodium.

You`ll still find desert on the menu like a chocolate or banana budino with chia seeds and toasted almonds.

And while you won`t find soda here, you will find plenty of specialty beverages like a cucumber mint water or hibiscus beet with fresh ginger apple and lemon,  raspberry lemonade and a kale banana smoothie. Local beer and wine are both on tap in an eco-conscious effort to minimize waste that is carried throughout the space.
