2 cases of Legionnaires’ Disease confirmed in DuPage County

Two cases of Legionnaires’ Disease have been confirmed in the Chicago area.

The DuPage County Health Dept reports the cases are confirmed in two adult males are were reported at the end of October.

A spokesperson for the health department says the “common denominator” was narrowed down to a hot tub at a L.A. Fitness in Naperville.

Both Dupage County Health Dept and Illinois Dept of Public Health  tested the facility, including the pool and showers  and the results were negative.

The fitness center remains open and the hot tub will undergo two cleanings and inspections before it is to reopen.

The spokesperson says LA fitness have been great in assisting them and addressing the concerns.
