Group of vets honor other with music

For Bernie Kampf, Ray Ariaz and Bob Rader, Veterans Day is as much a celebration for those who served as it is a time for healing.

They are members of  Guitars for Vets, a program which brings weekly guitar lessons to ailing veterans at the Hines VA Hospital.

While they are not therapists, the group uses music to help vets deal with troubles like post traumatic stress disorder, concentration and memory issues.

Once a month students get together for jam sessions and social gatherings.

The organization currently has 35 chapters in 15 states and is growing slowly..
