3 killed in Arlington Height house fire; Cause unknown

Three people died in a fire overnight in Arlington Heights.

The discovery of the fire was made by a local police officer spotted smoke in the 300 block of South Dunton around 3 a.m.

The officer called the fire department .Firefighters arrived on scene.  A woman was pulled from the home through this back window who was unresponsive.

Rescue efforts failed and the three people in the house died.  The house went up in flames.

A crime scene command unit and investigators are on scene and trying to determine the source of the fire.

Questions about how the blaze began and who were the people inside who perished remain unanswered.

One neighbor tells WGN news she believes one of the residents may have been wheel chair bound and another one could have possibly been her caretaker.

Until their families have been notified about the tragedy, no names are being released.
