Police are investigating the death of a northwest Indiana man after they found his body in a cooler at a meat company.

Authorities discovered the body of 27-year-old Andrew Fugate Monday morning at Piatak Meats in Merrillville while responding to a burglary call.

Police say Fugate was shot in the head.

He is the son of one of the co-owners of Piatak Meats and was a long-time employee.

Police say they believe the motive was robbery.

They don’t have any suspects in custody.
