Police issue warning after teen assaulted in Austin

Chicago police issued a warning to residents in the Austin neighborhood after a teenage girl was assaulted.

According to police, the 16-year-old girl was walking on North Menard St on Friday night around 10 p.m. when a man began to follow her and call out to her.

The suspect grabbed the girl from behind and sexually assaulted her in a vacant lot between Washington and Madison.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’7-5’9, 155 -175 lbs.  Police say he has a deep voice.
