Vets on way to WWII memorial, minus barricades

Another group of World War II veterans left Midway Airport this morning on a flight to Washington, D.C., to visit the World War II Memorial.

It’s the final trip of the year by the group Honor Flight Chicago.

The last group of vets to visit Washington found the memorial closed and barricaded by the Obama Administration in response to the partial government shutdown; but the vets were allowed to slip past the barricades and visit their memorial.
