Illinois will begin issuing driver’s licenses to undocumented immigrants in December.

Secretary of State Jesse White held a news conference Tuesday to make people aware of the program and explain the process of getting the licenses.

Applicants will need to make an appointment by calling 855-236-1155 or visiting http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com.

Undocumented immigrants must not have any outstanding parking tickets, moving violations or drunk driving charges.

They must have proof of car insurance.

The temporary visitor licenses may only be used for driving. They cannot be used as a form of identification for purposes such as boarding a plane, voting or purchasing a gun.

Let's be honest here. The focus of this legislation is to find favor with immigrants and secondly it encourages motor voter registration so non-citizens can vote in Federal election .

AS most people know, according to our Constitution , you must be a US citizen over age 18 to vote in Federal elections. Mayor Daily was able to bypass this law fifteen years ago. Daley stated that non citizens could vote in local elections such as city council, park board and school boards . . Activists registered hundreds of thousand of non citizens who are now listed on the voting scrolls. This is a major reason why election judges are not allowed to ask for an I.D nor inquire if they are citizens who can legally vote in certain elections.

I had to let a gentleman who was visiting his grandchildren vote in the last election even though he had been in this country 5 weeks and was returning to Poland a few days later. He didn't speak any english and couldn't tell you who was on the ballot.. To be fair. If you grew up country where you had never voted before would you pass up the chance to vote in an election even if you were leaving for your home country. This is why non citizens never pass up the chance to cast a ballot in elections.
