It is one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Chicago.  Englewood is riddled with gang activity, crime, and poverty.

And it is also where filmmaker Mark Harris was born and raised.

Watching his community change for the worse over the years,  lit a fire in Mark.  3 years ago he launched the Englewood Film Festival.

This year the festival showcases seven feature films and more than a dozen short films over four days.

The movies being shown carry strong messages; Family issues,  Social issues,  Success and failure, all aimed at getting the people of Englewood on a path to their own successes.
