The Illinois Department of Transportation is ready to hear your opinion of how the Eisenhower Expressway can be improved.

Four options have been put together.

Each would widen the Eisenhower from three lanes to four between Austin and Mannheim, and eliminate those massive commuter bottlenecks.

Another proposal would extend the CTA Blue Line west to Mannheim Road.

IDOT will host two public open houses today and tomorrow, to give you a look at how it could work.

Tonight’s open house begins at 5 p.m. at the Chicago Marriott, 625 South Ashland.

Tuesday at 5 p.m., it will be at the Proviso Math and Science Academy in Forest Park.
