31 years later: Police continue to investigate Tylenol murders

As the 31st anniversary of the tylenol murders approaches, Arlington Heights police announce they, along with other suburban departments, are continuing the investigation.

At one time, the FBI led the task force– chasing down thousands of leads. It ‘s now allowing agencies with the juristiction to prosecute to take over.
Someone laced Tylenol capsules with cyanide and killed seven people in 19-82.

Police never made an arrest for the murders. The man– they’ve long considered their prime suspect james lewis– served thirteen years in prison for trying to extort one million dollars to the maker of tylenol.
