A 54-year-old school security guard died at a South Holland hospital Thursday afternoon after being brought to the hospital from Thornwood High School.
Police were called to the school after two security guards responded to a fight in the hallway between two female students, according to a statement from the Village of South Holland. The guard was injured when he attempted to break up the fight and fell against a locker.
Paramedics were called because the guard “appeared to be in distress with difficulty breathing.”
The guard was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead at 1:55 p.m., the statement said.
The students involved in the fight and those that witnessed the incident are being interviewed by police.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released his name, pending notification of next of kin.

I would like to see a follow up story on what this fight was about to cost a man his life. The parents of these girls should be held accountable to pay his family not the school system that some lawyer will go after.

Oh, my God, what is our country coming to? There is no excuse for behavior such as this. Parents: Start parenting and teach your child how to behave!
