Ex-alderman Medrano convicted on third corruption charge

Ambrosio Medrano pleaded guilty to a 2010 bribery scheme in federal court Tuesday.

The 59-year-old admitted to trying to influence a bandage contract at Stroger hospital.

He faces more than a decade in prison at sentencing in January.

Medrano went to prison in Chicago’s infamous Silver Shovel Case and also awaits sentencing on a separate bribery conviction this year.
