For the third time this year, a Cook County jail inmate was released by mistake.

Jeremiah Harris was already serving a prison sentence when he was tried for a double murder.

A jury found him not guilty of those murders Monday night.

But instead of sending Harris back to prison for his previous sentence, he was released.

Officials didn’t realize he was missing until Wednesday.

Police arrested him at the home of a relative in Carpentersville, without incident.
