FBI: Chicago had most murders in 2012

Chicago had more murders than anywhere else in the U.S. last year but a dozen other large cities had higher murder rates.

There were 506 murders in Chicago in 2012, but with a population of about 2.7 million, the city is way down on the list of murders per-capita.

According to the F.B.I. Detroit has the highest murders per-capita rate.

Other large cities with higher murder rates than Chicago:  New Orleans, Saint Louis, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Cleveland and Atlanta.

    Gee, that's right up there with the number of fatalities compared to the number of plane flights, cars on the road vs car accident deaths, etc. Figures lie and liars figure.
