Crews work to recover underground worker swept away by flooding water

Rescue crews are attempting to recover a man who was working underground during Wednesday’s heavy rains and floods.

According to the Chicago Fire Dept, the private contract worker was working underground near Elston and Rockwell when it began raining heavily.  The flood waters washed the worker into a sewer hole.

The worker was wearing a wet suit at the time.

The age and name of the worker was not available at this time.
