An adoption agency in Rockford is reaching out to same-sex couples to take-in kids.

Children’s Home and Aid is hoping gay couples will know they’ll be treated fairly in the adoption process.

Jeff Barnes and his partner, Carlos, adopted twins last year.

He was fearful his kids may be teased growing up with two fathers.

But, he says being a parent is worth it, and he plans on mentoring same sex couples in Rockford who want to adopt.

Children’s Home and Aid is holding a meeting for interested couples in Loves Park next month.
