Health officials are reporting the first death from West Nile virus in suburban Cook County this year.

The victim was a 67-year-old man in Cicero.

He was also suffering from other health conditions.

County health officials have now confirmed one death, two human cases, and five birds with West Nile.

But those numbers don’t include Chicago, Evanston, Skokie, Oak Park, or Stickney Township because those areas have their own state certified public health departments.
