A new CTA safety campaign kicks off today with the slogan “Stay off the Tracks … It’s Not Worth Your Life.”

Already this year, seven people have died after falling off CTA train platforms.

Some were hit by trains, others electrocuted; some were drunk, or playing with friends, while others jumped off to try to retrieve fallen cell phones.

Riders will see new signs today on platforms and on the trains themselves, urging them to stay away from the edge of the platform unless they’re boarding a train.
