The cold front that triggered Sunday’s showers will usher stable, dry air across the region through Tuesday, removing any chance of additional rain. Conditions are forecast to change midweek.

An influx of warm, moisture laden air is expected to arrive Wednesday and Wednesday night, providing a breeding ground for thunderstorm clusters. Low level southwest winds are forecast to focus moisture across the Midwest. Computer models currently suggest that rainfall amounts may approach 3 inches across portions of the mid-Mississippi valley by Friday.
