VIDEO: Waterspouts form on Lake Michigan

A marine warning was issued this afternoon after several waterspouts were seen on Lake Michigan.

Radar indicated showers and thunderstorm producing a waterspout and strong winds.

Waterspouts are tornadoes over water and, when associated with supercell thunderstorms like this afternoon’s, should be considered potentially dangerous.

Several viewers sent pictures to Tom Skilling and the WGN Weather Center.
