1 dead, 1 hurt in South Side motorcycle crash

A 37-year-old man was killed and another man seriously hurt when one motorcycle crashed into another in the Avalon Park neighborhood Saturday night, authorities said.

About 10:10 p.m., the 37-year-old man was traveling northbound at a high speed when his motorcycle struck one facing southbound in the 11000 block of South Stony Island Avenue, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

The 37-year-old, whose name has not been released, was ejected from his motorcycle.  He died on the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The other man, a 53-year-old whose motorcycle was not moving at the time of the crash, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. He was listed in serious condition.
