The Lasalle/North Avenue ramps on Lake Shore Drive are back open after chunks of concrete fell from under the roadway.

No cars were hit and no one was injured when the concrete fell Tuesday afternoon, but it did cause some major delays.

The entrance and exit ramps were shut down for several hours.

Another inspection crew is expected to look at the area where the concrete fell today.

According to police, a chunk of concrete is still hanging from above.

Officials say these overpasses are inspected every two years.

This particular one was built in the 1930’s, but was last repaired five years ago.
