Democratic state Sen. Kwame Raoul has announced he will not run for Illinois governor, instead focusing on his role as chairman of a panel looking to solve the state’s pension debt.

Raoul’s departure brings the field down to three on the Democratic side: former Commerce Secretary Bill Daley, former CeaseFire Director Tio Hardiman and current Governor Pat Quinn.

The Illinois primary is March 18, 2014.
